Music from Northern Soundscapes Studios
I am a songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist based in Knaresborough North Yorkshire, UK.
I like all kinds of music, but in particular, I am a big fan of Pop music, particularly 80s. I also like some ‘Prog’ artists as well. I particularly like the intersection of those two genres. I write in a lot of styles (including instrumental) and that's why I have 3 music projects on the go - all recorded at my private studio, Northern Soundscapes.
Two projects lean towards the 'Prog' sphere ('TimMusicWorld' - specialising in music inspired by Yorkshire history and culture and 'Silver Hunter' - an Anglo-French collaboration). The third project 'Light Engineering' leans towards the esoteric end of 80s pop. I also compose instrumental music: this ranges from electronica and prog through to Smooth Jazz. Instrumental influences include Mike Oldfield,Vangelis and Tangerine Dream. Songwriting-wise I'm influenced by anything Trevor Horn was involved in, plus 10cc; Supertramp; Genesis, Steely Dan; The Alan Parsons project and , of course, The Beatles. I also like Baroque Classical music e.g. Handel, Bach etc.
This music is all available on Bandcamp.com - please click on the three boxes below to listen and purchase.
There are, in total 14 albums and getting on for 200 songs, so there's plenty there to check out. I also broadcast Quarterly Podcasts on MixCloud featuring news and latest updates about my music.
